The Story of FilamentsDB
Hey, I'm Lukas — a solo developer from Brno, Czech Republic, and a 3D printing enthusiast. I built FilamentsDB because I believe 3D printing is more than just a hobby.
Owning a 3D printer at home is a small act of sustainability. Instead of ordering a replacement part that ships across the globe in plastic packaging, you can just print it. Broken drawer handle? Print it. Missing clip for your dishwasher rack? Print it. It's practical, it reduces waste, and it keeps things out of landfills.
Beyond repairs, 3D printing supports creativity — something I think is especially important in a world that pushes us toward passive consumption. With a printer, you're not just buying things — you're making them. You're solving problems, designing solutions, and building things that don't exist yet.
But here's the thing: filament choice matters a lot, and finding good comparison resources was always frustrating. Most information is scattered across forums, YouTube videos, and random blog posts. I wanted a single place where you could browse filaments, compare specs, and read real reviews from people who actually printed with them. So I built it.

FilamentsDB is built for the community and gets better with every contribution. Leave a review on a filament you've used, suggest a feature, or just spread the word. Every bit of input helps make this a more useful resource for everyone.
